How does one go about inventing something?
Hi. My name is Sherry and the Towel Hammock was first imagined in February of 2005 after I moved into an apartment that had limited storage space in the bathrooms. As I thought about the problem and imagined what would be a perfect solution, the answer came into my consciousness. I sat down to designed the first prototype, named it Towel Hammock from the obvious design, then hurried out to the craft store and purchased material I thought would work. The material I began with is not what I use today, but it launched my research for better options. As I have used the Towel Hammock over the course of the last 3 years, it has undergone a series of revamping and tweaking to become what it is today. Currently, you will find the Towel Hammock, made from sturdy canvas, comes in a variety of colorful trims to fit your decorative color scheme. In 2009, we will be launching a new trim (grosgrain ribbon) as an option along with the poly webbing trim. Both will serve you well for a long life to your Towel Hammock. In 2008, I began the patent and trademark process for this product. The patent process is a long one - often taking 2-5 years. That's ok - we are in it for the duration. I am happy to report that we have received the trademark distinction and we are now officially registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark office.
